5 ways to make laptop batteries last longer

Battery is one of the important things to consider when buying a laptop. Because with a good battery life, it will certainly support daily activities faster and more optimally. Especially for spacers who are used to working with these devices.

Currently, there are many laptop computers that have large capacity batteries. However, the habits and ways of caring for a laptop computer can also reduce the performance of the laptop computer battery, you know! Therefore, so that the laptop computer battery does not quickly leak or be damaged, follow a few pointers on caring for the following laptop computer battery.

Unplug the Charge When It's 100%

The main cause of a laptop computer battery leaking quickly is the habit of forgetting to unplug the charger when the battery is full. In fact, letting the electric current to continue to flow through the battery can actually damage the components inside the battery. Therefore, so that the laptop computer battery remains durable, avoid charging it while you are sleeping and traveling.

Avoid Totally Dead Laptops

Because of the fun of watching movies or predominant games, you often forget to charge your laptop computer until the laptop computer turns off completely. Without you knowing it, the habit of letting the battery power completely run out or reach 0% can actually be fatal. This is because a laptop computer that suddenly turns off while doing work can cause the components in the battery to become damaged quickly. So, try to charge the battery immediately before the battery power goes below 20%.

Use Original Charger

Make sure you use a unique charger or the default laptop computer manufacturer itself. Never try to use cheap chargers or KW goods just to save money. Using an unauthentic charger can cause the electric current to become unstable and make the battery quickly damaged due to a surge that is too large or too small.

Pay attention to the temperature when charging

Temperature is one of the factors that affect the performance of your laptop battery. So, don't let your laptop computer is exposed to or in an environment with temperatures that are too extreme, either too hot or cold. This condition can cause the laptop computer to work harder, which in turn can drain the battery and then make it lose its ability to store power.

Activate Power Saver Mode

By default, most Windows laptop computers are set to Balance mode. Therefore, change your laptop's power settings through the Control Panel, or click the battery icon on the Taskbar at the bottom right of the screen, then select Power Saver mode. This battery saving feature is already available on various types of laptops. With this feature you can extend battery life and save power in critical situations.

Close Unnecessary Apps

Not only hardware that needs attention. So that the laptop computer battery becomes longer and lasts longer, it's a good idea to close various applications that are not needed because opening many applications at once will drain the battery.

So, instead of letting the battery become damaged, which in turn makes you unable to use your favorite laptop computer, it would be better for you to start following simple ways to take care of your laptop computer battery.

How to fix a laptop charger that heats up fast

To do activities using a laptop, we definitely need a charger. As we usually do, we need to recharge every time the battery runs out.

Causes of Hot Laptop Chargers and Easy Ways to Overcome

Without the presence of a charger, our laptop computer may not be useful at all. If the battery 'drops' and we don't bring a charger, we can't do anything on our laptop computer.

When we do the process of charging (charge) on a laptop, try occasionally to hold the charger adapter. Is it warm? Or even hot?

Each hot temperature released can be an indication of whether the charger has a problem or not.

If after holding it feels warm, then the adapter can still be said to be normal. That's only natural, because that's how it should be, the adapter that is connected to a power source will definitely receive heat.

You need to do further checking, then estimate the level of reasonableness of the temperature.

If you use a laptop for a long time, the temperature on the charger adapter will usually increase because it holds a lot of power. Please check the adapter yourself, most of them will have to enter and output descriptions. To enter itself, it means the incoming power from the wall outlet to the adapter, while the output is the power from the charger adapter to the laptop.

So, the longer you use the laptop, the hotter the temperature on the charger adapter.

But sometimes the charger feels very hot, to the point that it even makes our skin turn red after holding it. If this happens, it could really be damaging to some components.

Causes of a Laptop Charger that overheating Fast and How to Overcome it

A. Causes of Hot Charger

1. Damage to Laptop Charger Adapter

This component called the adapter actually has a function to withstand excess power from the power source and drain power as needed.

If we use the charger for too long, the charger will usually feel warm. However, if the heat is too hot, there may be damage to the components inside the adapter.

The damage that occurs usually lies in the transformer (transformer) or smaller components such as transistors, capacitors, or diodes.

2. Damage to Charger Connector

The cause of the laptop computer charger being hot, which in turn may be due to damage to the charger connector. If the connector that functions as a connector between the charger and the laptop computer has problems, it can cause the charger adapter to heat up.

The charger connector generally has metal/copper pins, this part is often damaged.

If the connector is not correct, the power supply to the laptop computer will be disrupted. The output power is eventually returned to the adapter. This can cause an anomaly in the electric current, causing the charger adapter to heat up.

3. Overvoltage and Supply

Try once in a while you look at the sticker on the adapter. You need to check the maximum voltage.

If the maximum voltage for your laptop computer charger is 220 Volts, then it is better if the voltage used is 220 Volts. If it exceeds that, for example 240 Volts, it may still be tolerated and can be used as usual.

However, laptop computer adapters can heat up faster and may shorten the life of the charger.

4. Specifications & Incorrect Charger Quality

Many people underestimate this one thing, even though it is quite important to pay attention to.

If you are using an original laptop computer charger (original charger), then there is no need to worry. The problem is using a laptop computer charger that is not the original default (universal charger). Sometimes the values and information contained on the sticker are not necessarily correct or maybe the quality of the components does not meet the minimum standards.

In some cases, the charger adapter can become very hot after being connected to a power source for 2-3 hours. In other cases, it even smells like burning wires and emits smoke. Finally the charger is damaged and can not be used anymore.

In this case, the use of prevalent chargers can have a negative impact on the battery or laptop computer being used.

Even so, there are still some regularly occurring chargers that are of the same quality and performance as the authentic chargers that were previously used.

B. How to Overcome a Hot Laptop Charger

Inspection:

- Check the laptop battery, whether it gets a power source when the charger adapter is connected or not.

- Meanwhile, if there is no power charged, there may be interference with the laptop computer or adapter.

- To find out the next cause, try checking the end of the charger that is connected to the laptop. Also check other components such as metal pins on connectors.

- Use a multimeter to measure the voltage on the charger adapter. If the voltage is very low, the problem may indeed lie with the charger adapter itself.

- After that, remove the laptop computer battery and try to operate it with an AC charger adapter. Check the condition of the charger again. If it's still hot, there may be an indication that the charger adapter is damaged or the voltage is too high.

- You must also use an AC charger adapter that is compatible with your laptop computer (the voltage is right). Do not use another computer laptop charger because it is very risky.

- Try to replace it with another laptop computer battery or charger. Then check again, after that concludes what the real cause is.

Next step:

- If you already know the cause, try to repair your charger. If you can't / can't, replace your laptop computer charger with new and quality one. If possible, look for the original.

- Although it is more expensive, it is certainly safer and more durable than a universal charger.

That's all from me, I hope it's useful.

How to fix a laptop that turns itself off due to heat

Laptops are cellular devices that are the choice of IT enthusiasts today. The last few years, laptop specifications are getting higher and higher. You could say almost equal the power of a desktop computer. But did you know, the higher the hardware specifications, the hotter the engine from the laptop will be. The heat can be deadly if it lasts too long. Sometimes it makes a laptop computer error, turns itself off, and even hardware damage. But before that happens, we think we have to be ready with various ways to overcome the cause of the laptop computer turning itself off due to heat or overheating.

The overheating problem will usually start with the laptop computer turning itself off or suddenly restarting when it is in use. Is the problem just from the heat? Let's try to discuss what the heat has to do with the cause of the laptop computer turning itself off.

Why do laptops heat up fast?

The question is, how do we know if the device temperature is very hot? Even though the room was cold with ac. If you feel that there is heat that is bright enough to blare, it is not necessarily the cause of overheating. Overheating itself is heat in the system that can cause hardware failure, and this event really needs to be controlled and watched out for.

But if the heat in question is still reasonable, maybe it's just a post-process heating output that occurs in your hardware, it's not a dangerous thing.

There are definite signs that occur when your device experiences intense heat (overheat). For example, you can hear the sound of the fan (cooler) always running at maximum speed. It's also possible that you will feel a very significant decrease in performance, and the system feels slow!

This happens because the CPU automatically cuts its clock speed to reduce heat stress. In addition, software program failures often occur and sometimes the operating system also likes failure. For example, your home windows suddenly blue screen, etc.

Download REALTEMP Software to analyze laptop temperature.

Make sure the temperature of the laptop computer is not more than 80 degrees Celsius. However, if the temperature tends to be safe, it means that the laptop computer cannot turn on or turn off suddenly, not because of a hot temperature problem.

Other possibilities could be due to: Leaky Battery, Windows Troubled, Corrupt Hard Drive, Broken Motherboard, damaged RAM, VGA Trouble, LCD Error (Even though the screen is dead, but sometimes it's mistaken for a dead gadget).

Can't turn on because it's dirty

Checked if there is a dirty fan, that might be the problem. Also pay attention if there is a fan cable that is not connected, causing the fan to not work (not playing)

Gave Gaps at the Bottom of the Laptop Case

The cooler or cooling pad is actually meant to provide additional cooling. However, sometimes if you buy a cooler that doesn't fit your model, what's the impact? So before you want to buy a cooling pad, you need to understand the air flow in and out of your device's ventilation system.

Must be on a flat surface, not on a mattress

Actually this is a trivial thing. If you know, almost all laptop computers have an air circulation system at the bottom of the casing. There's also a circulation position on the side or behind. But wouldn't it be better if the bottom physique system had an air gap that could at least reduce the heat of the lower physique.

That's all from me, I hope it's useful.

This feature is also useful when we want to compare two documents. Now, this break up display feature has been developed and its usability improved again in Windows 10. This is evident from the ability to add three or four windows at once.

The presence of this screen splitting feature allows users to adjust multiple screens neatly. This feature allows us to operate the screen so that it can contain two or more application windows at the same time without freeing the floating screen above the desktop appearance.

In addition, this feature also allows moving applications to be done easily without the hassle of closing and accessing the screen repeatedly when needed. For example, when you are typing while surfing in cyberspace.

Enabling the Split Screen Feature in Windows

Basically Windows 10 also has this feature enabled by default. However, it would be better if you make sure beforehand whether the multitasking settings in Windows that allow the screen to access more than one application on one screen are active or not.

Select the icon in the form of a gear, click Start, then enter settings. You can also use keyboard shortcuts by pressing the Win + I keys simultaneously.

Click the System option on the settings screen.

On the left side of the screen there is a menu option, click the Multitasking option.

All other applications that are currently active will appear on the opposite side of the screen and are smaller than the screen that has been placed on the first side.

Select an application or other software that you need to fill the screen on the opposite side. You can make the window on the right side bigger, and more app windows next to it smaller from the app window on the left or vice versa. Just adjust.

Two application windows still missing? Need more windows to make your work easier? Don't worry, you got it adds two more windows on one screen at a time.

Select one of the open software windows that you need.

Scroll the first window to the edge of the screen. You can place it to the left or right edge of the screen, it can also be down or to the top of the screen.

When the pointer reaches the edge of the screen, a rectangular blinking help line will appear. It is a benchmark for the screen limit that will appear.

To fill in the other three columns, drag the application window afterwards with the same steps.

When you skip the mouse, two software windows will appear on the right side.

On the left side, you can add two software or application windows so that all screens are filled with four application windows.

Click the remaining application to pin in the lower-left corner of the screen.

- Check the data stated in Installed RAM. Windows will tell you how much RAM you have installed and how much you have used. You'll find it under the Device Specifications section.

How to Check and View Graphic Card (GPU)

If you want to find out what type of graphics card you have, the process is similar to finding out what CPU you have, but checking to see what GPU is in your system is 50% more successful than checking to see what CPU you have.

To find out what GPU you have, simply do the following:

- Again, right-click on the Windows begin menu icon.

- Click on 'Device Manager' in the menu that appears.

- In 'Device Manager', click on the arrow next to 'Display Adapters'

- Your GPU will be listed there.

However, be aware that it may display two options under the 'Display Adapters' tab. If it shows the two options above, it means it shows the integrated graphics on your processor and the dedicated graphics card on your laptop computer. The one you're looking for is a dedicated graphics card, as it's the more powerful (and the one your system uses) of the two.

Your custom graphics card will usually be the second option listed. If you have an Intel processor, the integrated graphics will be named something like ‘Intel HD Graphics 4000.’ In that case, the other options are what you want. It will most likely be something like an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 700M or an AMD Radeon (or HD) R9 M470. Be aware, though, that if you have an AMD processor in your system, the integrated graphics will also most likely be ‘AMD Radeon…” But in this case, just go with the 2nd option, as it will likely be your particular graphics.

How to Check and View the Motherboard

How to View Laptop or PC Specifications Such as RAM, CPU, and GPU

To find out what type of motherboard you have as well as who manufactured your motherboard and sockets and chipset, the process is slightly different from above. You can of course open your laptop (if you have a computer and not a laptop) and check and see who manufactured your motherboard and what the name of the model is on the board.

However, motherboards are usually given names like ASUS Z370-A, or MSI B350M, or Gigabyte GA-AX370-Gaming5, where ASUS, MSI, and Gigabyte are the motherboard manufacturers, and Z370, B350, and X370 are motherboard chipsets (which can also be motherboard chipsets). Directs you to the motherboard socket type as well.) So if you don't really understand who the main motherboard manufacturer is and what set of letters and numbers to look for that represents the chipset and motherboard names, you might want to go with the easier option. For some users, you can try the following:

- In the Windows search bar, type 'System Information'

- Scroll down on the System Summary tab (opens on the left side of the window) until you find 'Motherboard Manufacturer', or 'BaseBoard Manufacturer'.

- The information next to 'Motherboard / BaseBoard Manufacturer', 'Motherboard / BaseBoard Model', and 'Motherboard / BaseBoard Name', will give you the information you are looking for.

Although, in most cases, the information you find in this tab may be a bit vague. Considering not much of a step in knowing the information from the motherboard but at least telling you who manufactured your motherboard. Of course, this can help make it easier to find the information you're looking for when you open your computer to check it out.

Conclusion and Closing

Now that you know what specifications your computer has, you can make a better decision about whether your current system is worth upgrading or not. However, it should be noted that if you wish to upgrade your components, it is not as simple as simply selecting a new and better component and injecting it into your system. Your current components will determine what new components you can purchase.
